Michael Peachey co-founded General Interface with Kevin Hakman. Michael has over a decade of proven results leading online and application development efforts. His previous business eMergingMedia, also with Kevin Hakman, was a successful e-commerce application and online direct marketing firm in San Francisco. Michael was Executive Producer for Eagle River Interactive (later, Agency.com) in Mountain View, California where his teams produced projects for Apple Computer, Disney Entertainment, Sun Microsystems, Pioneer Electronics, Intuit, Sega Games, Cisco Systems, and more. Before relocating to the West Coast, Michael was Director of Online Services for Hearst Publishing in Garden City, NY where in the mid- 1990’s he launched several of the Web’s first profitable advertising-based sites. Prior to Hearst, as Director of Marketing at American Express, Michael developed the online and Internet marketing vision strategy for the launch of the “Virtual Bank” — a remote retail banking business acquiring and servicing clients through mail, telemarketing and electronic channels. He was also responsible for the development and marketing of American Express’ first email business travel reservation system. Michael received an MBA in Marketing and Organizational Management from the Columbia Business School, and a BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
Kevin Hakman | President & Co-foudner
Building upon a diverse background combining business management with software development and human factors design, Kevin’s talents and expertise contribute to the environment of innovation that surrounds General Interface. Kevin has 10 years of measurable results in creating profitable businesses based upon competitive software advantages. Prior to General Interface, Kevin led the business development, marketing and sales efforts for eMergingMedia, an award winning provider of online direct marketing and e-commerce solutions. Prior to the Internet revolution, Kevin pioneered software for just-in-time printed catalogs. The ability to print a personalized catalog based upon individual customer profiles led furniture manufacturer/retailer Berkeley Mills to over 300% revenue growth using the software. The success of this sales and marketing automation software became the impetus to create eMergingMedia. Kevin received a Bachelors of Architecture from Cornell University and graduated receiving the New York Gold Medal for excellence in design.
